Part 2: Private Label
2.1 Quick ControlsThis is our quick-and-easy navigation wizard. Whenever you need to edit something on your account or completely setup a new one - this is the place to quickly go through all settings. The 'Quick Store Set-Up' part of the wizard will lead your through all settings of your reseller web stores, the 'Quick Service Set-Up' part will help you manage all your reseller account and web hosting services settings. All you need to cover - to successfully launch your reseller web hosting business - is gathered on one place, convenient, isn't it? 2.1.1 Quick Store Set-up exampleYour first step would be to create a reseller store. You need to give a Store Name and Store Brand to your new private brand reseller hosting store. After that you need to choose your store’s default currency - e.g. GBP, if your store is orientated towards the British market. The commission settings that you need to make next will be applicable to all your reseller stores because the commissions you generate from all stores will be gathered together and sent to you all at once in the chosen currency. Now you have to choose an attractive template for your newly set up reseller store and customize it up to your preferences. The Remote Domain Search form and Remote Direct Order form that you need to select next - to connect your store to our billing system – should fit well to the design of your store’s template in terms of size and functionality. Take into account the markets that you have targeted and pick a Data Center that will best suit your customers’ location (either our base in Freemont/California, or our UK base - in Maidenhead/London). You can also enable your web hosting offerings to be displayed on the Error Pages appearing in place of your customers’ websites (Error Page Trap) in the event of a downtime. The marketing settings of your reseller store may include - enabling of Boost My Renewals and Boost My Sales services. These can increase enormously the number of sign ups through your web store. The set-up of the customer Web Hosting Control Panel of all clients of your web store (the one that you are currently configuring) can include: activating the ‘Upgrades’ table - providing various upgrade services for your customers to purchase from their Control Panel; enabling of the ‘Set Up New Account’ table - quick wizard for new account orders of your customers from their Control Panel; the ‘Visit Store’ link - allowing quick access to your web store from the customers’ Control Panel.
2.1.2 Quick Services Set Up exampleWhenever you need to refill your wallet you can quickly jump to this wizard and credit your Wallet account. The bigger funds you deposit, the bigger bonuses you receive. If you deposit $3000.00 USD for example, you get $600.00 USD – that’s 20 %! Do not forget also that you need to have at least $100.00 USD Wallet balance if you wish to set up a 100 % custom reseller store with our Reseller API software (if you do not have yet two web hosting accounts purchased through the respective store). You already know how important it is to have a representative domain name locating your web store on the global network. What we can add here is that you can register more than one domain names and associate them with a store of yours if, for example, you are trying to closely address a larger amount of customer markets. There is a rich variety of TLDs that you can pick up from to register domain names that you find best-speaking to the public. The closer the second-level domain name is to your Store Brand, the better (e.g. ‘hostglobally’), the closer the TLD (top-level domain name) is to the nationality/residency/occupation of your targeted customers (e.g. ‘.co.uk’ for UK) – the friendlier. Now, after you have registered/transferred a recognizable domain name for your web store, the best would be to register a Private DNS Cluster – this would fully guarantee your reseller anonymity and boost your private brand awareness amongst your customers. You will receive your private brand name servers allocated to the DNS records of both your reseller domain name and the domain names of your customers (e.g. dns1.hostglobally.co.uk/dns2.hostglobally.co.uk). It’s time to setup your web hosting plan offerings – you can have up to 20 web hosting plans set up within one reseller account. With our Liquid Plan Builder tool you can create plans of your own – select the desired parameters that would best suit your customers’ demands and potential requirements. You need to activate the hosting services that will be offered on your web store – you can activate for offering up to 6 plans (either our pre-defined plans, or your custom-made ones, as well as both alternatives), and select for promotion on your store’s index page up to 4 of them. The rest of your plans, if any, can stay in your account as marketing reserves for later activation - whenever you need to update the hosting offers on your web store. You can activate for offering also all domain name TLDs that you find attractive for your clients. You can set up separate pricing for few of them - one if purchased together with a web hosting plan, and the other - for sole registrations/transfers. Do not forget the FREE Domain Offer as well – it’s very appealing to the clients! If you have activated the ‘Upgrades’ table to be featuring in your customers’ Web Hosting Control Panel, your clients will be able to purchase extra service quotas and upgrade their accounts whenever they need. You can enable the following options: ‘Add Services’ - storage, traffic, hosted domains, subdomains, IP address, MySQL, MySQL Storage, FTP accounts, SSH, mailboxes, mailing lists, cron jobs (you need to define prices for all of them); ‘Change Plan’, ‘Renew Plan’, ‘Register Domain’. You can apply all setting only to a chosen group of customers – signed up for the same web hosting plan.
2.2 Store settings2.2.1 My Store NameYou can start up setting up a reseller store of yours by inventing first its basic store names. Do not forget to define easy-to-remember Store Name (the name that will identify your store in our system), e.g. ‘my3store’, and attractive and well recognizable Store Brand (the name that will represent your company to your customers), e.g. ‘Host Globally’.
It’s good to specify a default domain name for your web store (especially if you have/are going to have few domain names associated with this store). The default domain you specify (e.g. hostglobally.com) will be used to refer new customers through the ‘Invite a Friend’ section and the ‘Visit Store’ icon in your clients' Web Hosting Control Panel. If you leave the default domain field blank, your ‘default store URL’ (the URL assigned to your store by our system, e.g. my3store.duoservers.com) will be used for this purpose.
2.2.2 Store CurrencyContinue by selecting a default currency for your store. Pick the one that you find most suitable regarding your potential customers’ location and the marketing orientation of your web store (e.g. GBP for UK customers). Note that, if you already have a default currency set for a particular store of yours, and you want to simply change it, you need to check all your offerings’ pricing details after you select the new currency. You might need to make some changes, as all prices will be automatically converted into the new currency thanks to our reseller hosting network’s multi-currency system.
2.2.3 Clients CPAfter signing up for an account with you, your clients will receive a Web Hosting Control Panel – the place where they will manage their web hosting accounts from. The Web Hosting Control Panel is highly brandable and highly customizable. You can activate and deactivate many options for your customers up there. You will also have access to your customers’ Control Panel in ‘Reseller Mode’. You can always use it to access a Control Panel of a client of yours and make necessary settings/purchases on his behalf, if needed. Use the dropdown in the ‘Client CP’ section to preview the private brand features/activate different services for your customers’ Web Hosting Control Panel – the most representative tool of your private brand web hosting company: CP Header/Footer - Take a look at your private brand (Store Brand name) displayed at the header and footer sections. Tip: Always think of a Store Brand name that is uniquely recognizable and easily remembered!
Upgrades table – activate/deactivate and customize the Upgrades table in the Web Hosting Control Panels of your customers/groups of customers. You can deactivate the Upgrades table, for example, for a group of customers signed up for the same web hosting plan, in case that you want to bill them yourself and do not want them to have access to the Upgrades options.
Invite A Friend – It is very friendly to activate the ‘Invite a Friend’ section in the Web Hosting Control Panels of your customers because it enables them to recommend your services to their friends by sending e-mail invitations. Please, remember that the default domain name that you have set up for the respective store will be feturing in the invitation.
Invoices – With each order of a new hosting account, renewal or upgrade of currently signed up services, your clients will receive invoices featuring your Store Brand name. The name of our billing company – LiquidNet Ltd. – will be also featuring in the invoices associated with your brand name. Example: „Thank you for ordering from "Host Globally". "Host Globally" is in association with LiquidNet Ltd.- a United Kingdom company, and this email is an INVOICE issued by LiquidNet Ltd. for ORDER ID 12345.
Legal Documents (TOS) - The following legal documents represent the agreement/relationships between you and your customers: Terms and Conditions: these are the regulations that each customer has to abide by when using our/your hosting services; Order Verification: describes our/your anti-fraud payment processing; Service Level Guarantees: contain customer satisfaction policies, money-back, network and server uptime guarantees; Privacy Policy: states our/your policy for full confidentiality of the customer’s personal information; Domain Name Registration Agreement: customer agreement to abide by ICANN’s WHOIS rules when registering domain names; Domain Name Dispute Resolution Policy: excludes our/your involvement in any disputes on domain names ownerships.
Error Pages – if you select the Error Page Trap option, you can set your web hosting offerings to be appearing on the error pages (coming in the event of a downtime in place) of your customers’ websites. This way you use the traffic generated by errors 400, 401, 403, 404 to attract new clients. You clients of course will have the option to set manually (from their Web Hosting Control Panel) their preferred error page – default (Error Page Trap if enabled), system Apache, or custom one.
Sign Up Table/Visit Store – activating the ‘Sign Up’ table and the ‘Visit Store’ link, you can increase enormously the sales through your store, as your clients will have quick and direct access to your store’s website at any time (to review your offers, find contact information, etc.), and moreover – they will be able to sign up for a new web hosting account directly from their Web Hosting Control Panel whenever they need to do so. You can agian activate the ‘Sign Up’ table only for a particular group of customers, if you do not want all of them to have access to this option.
2.2.4 MiscellaneousThrough the ‘Miscellaneous’ subsection in the ‘Store Settings’ section of your Reseller Control Panel you can activate our marketing orientated services – Boost-My-Sales and Boost-My-Renewals. Do not hesitate to use these services as they can substantially boost the signups through your web stores. The first service is aimed at attracting new customers to your store, the second – to boost the account renewals of your existing customers. Here is how these services will work for you: Boost My Sales – when a (new) client goes through your store, fills in the account details on the Order page, but does not pass the billing page due to some billing issues, he/or she leaves a trace in our system and we can send then back an email to the client. The email will contain specific information about the services the client has intended to order, as well as a polite request to try again using the direct access shortcut to the reseller store’s billing page provided in the email.
Boost My Renewals – this service concerns all your existing clients. When a customer’s domain/hosting account is expiring, usually the customer receives a few system messages to renew the account, which he/or she may not notice until the (following after the expiration) event of a downtime of his/her website. However, if you have activated the ‘Boost My Renewals’ service, our system will send expiration warning messages not only to your customer, but also to all mailboxes hosted in the customer’s expiring domain/hosting account, and thus inform all individuals concerned by the possible event of a downtime. This way, if the customer has not noticed our account expiration warnings, he/or she may receive a notice from other individuals hosting mailboxes in his/her hosting account and renew the services on time.
When choosing your store’s default data center, please mind that: our PEER1 Data Center in Fremont, California, is an excellent choice for all clients from the USA, Canada, Mexico, or from South America and Oceania; while our BlueSquare Data Center in Maidenhead, Berkshire, is located only at about 20 miles (34 km) from London and is an excellent choice for all clients from Europe, Asia or Africa.
