.PH Domain History & Purpose
.PH is the official TLD for the island nation of the Philippines, which is located in the western Pacific Ocean. Even though it’s not the largest country in the world, it’s one of the most populated ones, with about 100 million people living on the 7000+ islands that make up the Philippines, and an additional 12 million Filipinos living all over the world.
The .PH domain name was first introduced in 1990 and has been available for registration to anyone in the world ever since. During the first 10 years, .PH domain names didn’t have an expiration date and did not have to be renewed – instead, customers were charged for WHOIS and DNS modifications. These lifetime domains were not transferable.
In the year 2000, the .PH domain registry stopped offering lifetime .PH domain registrations and instead moved to an annual renewal model, which is in effect to this day.
.PH Domain Registration & Reselling Services
Today, anyone can get a .PH domain name for up to 10 years in advance and freely modify the WHOIS and DNS settings. We don’t support .PH domain name transfers, so if you already have a .PH domain registered with another provider, you won’t be able to move it to us. However, you will still be able to host the domain, as well as the website it corresponds to, with us without any problems.
With ResellersPanel, you will also be able to sell .PH domain names through your storefront and gain a profit. With the Philippines being such a large market, there is a huge demand for .PH domains from both local and foreign entities. And there are no special requirements for the registration of a .PH domain name, which makes them even more attractive.
