After numerous requests by our free reseller hosting program subscribers for adding more security to e-mail accounts, we added anti-virus protection on all servers from our reseller hosting network at the beginning of the last week (after April 12, 2004).
The protection is automatic for all our SMTP and POP3 servers.
In case that the computer of any of web hosting customer or web hosting reseller, who uses our SMTP and/or POP3 servers, is infected by a virus, which spreads by e-mail, then our anti-virus protection will not allow the virus to be sent through our SMTP server. The same applies to receiving e-mail through our POP3 server. When receiving e-mail from our POP3 servers, the messages, which contain viruses, will be blocked by the anti-virus protection of our POP3 server and will not be delivered to the web hosting customer or the web hosting reseller.
You should all be aware of the fact that any anti-virus protection can save you only from existing and recognized viruses. This is so, because unfortunately the people who create and spread viruses over the world have the last say on this issue.
