Protect Your WHOIS - ID Protect Service Available Now

Publish Date: Friday, August 03, 2007

We are happy to announce that the ID Protect service has been successfully integrated into the Web Hosting Control Panel. From now on, all web hosting reseller clients will have the option to mask their WHOIS details for their new domains and for previously registered/transferred domains.

Once the service is activated, our registrar will hide the real WHOIS details and replace them with fictitious data. In result, all the e-mails that are sent to the newly set e-mail address will be filtered and forwarded to the actual registrar's e-mail address.

ID Protect for new domain(s)

ID Protect for new domain(s) The ID Protect service can be purchased from several places within the Control Panel's interface. When registering a new domain name from the Domain Manager, the customer will have the option to activate ID Protect service and choose the number of years for the service, on the domain WHOIS details page.

ID Protect for already registered domain(s)

ID Protect for already registered domain(s) To purchase ID Protect for a domain that is already registered with us, or transferred to our registrar, and is listed in the Web Hosting Control Panel, the customer can choose between three places - the Add link in the ID Protect column or the Edit WHOIS button for the chosen domain in the Domain Manager, as well as the Quick Controls option in the upper-left corner of the web Control panel (section WHOIS, the Order ID Protect link).

Management of ID Protect service

Management of ID Protect service After purchasing the service, the customer has several options for managing the ID Protect. He can enable, disable or renew the service from the Quick Controls panel of the domain names, or with a single click on the green shield for the selected domain name in the Domain Manager.

The ID Protect service is applicable only to .com / .net / .org / .biz / .info domain names that are registered with us or subsequently transferred to our registrar. Its expiration date is not related to the expiration date of the domain name. Customers should disable the service when transferring a domain away from our registrar to make sure that the transfer verification e-mail will reach the correct Administrative contact.
