How to recompile the Apache with WHM

As a proud member of our free reseller program, you have decided to take matters in your own hands and commit to being an independent reseller with a separate Virtual Private Server. However, you have a situation where one of your clients needs a different Apache version or a specific PHP component. If you are not subscribed for our “Managed Services” package on your Virtual Private Server, you can find the following tutorial useful on how to make such changes for all of your hosts.

In order to start recompiling the Apache service and PHP, please log in to your Web Host Manager using the username and password for “root”. In the Find box to the left of your screen, please type in EasyApache. You can click now on the search result “EasyApache (Apache Update)”. A new user interface will appear, containing a total of eight steps that give you the opportunity to start your Apache/PHP configuration from scratch. Firstly, you are provided with options for the basic PHP features (PHP Encryption and Image Manipulation comes with most common settings turned on). In order to proceed, please select “Start customizing based on profile” so you can move on select your Apache version of choice as well as Major/Minor versions for PHP and also whether you wish to include additional Apache/PHP options during step 5 (Short Options List) and step 6 (Exhaustive Options List). When you are done, please click on the “Save and Build” button and a new screen will load up, providing you with a view of the installation process. Once complete, your VPS will be equipped with the new settings and ready to run HTML pages and web applications.

Be sure to check also the homepage of EasyApache for more information and additional topics you may find useful:
