A New File Manager

When we started working on our new File Manager, we wanted it to be something that everyone will find easy to use. We experimented with several layouts, but in the end we decided to create a File Manager similar to the desktop file managers that everyone has on their home computer. This way, a customer will not get confused, even if he is new to the web hosting scene.

The first thing we did was to add right-click context menus. If you want to do something with a file or a folder, you just have to right-click it - you will be presented with all the available actions. This way, you don't have to scroll up and down to find the needed action buttons each time you want to do something.

Another thing that was previously missed was that we couldn't drag 'n' drop items the way we wanted. We had to copy, navigate, paste, etc., which took too much time. So, we went ahead and added the drag 'n' drop functionality to our File Manager. All you have to do to move a file is to select it, drag it and drop it where you want it. The respective folders will automatically expand for you.

Another new addition is the WYSIWYG (What You See Is What You Get) editor. You can edit your HTML files directly from the Hepsia Control Panel if you need to make any modifications while the website is live.

Beside the WYSIWYG editor, you will also find a Code Editor, which can work with CSS, HTML, JavaScript, PHP, Python, Visual Basic, C, CPP, SQL, etc. files. While it's much simpler than the WYSIWYG editor, it still offers syntax highlighting and can read files in more than 30 encodings.

Another much desired feature was included - namely the ability to extract or archive files. All you have to do is select an archive file and extract it using either the respective button in the toolbar or the right-click context menu. This was made possible thanks to the new backend system.
