A New Control Panel Interface

A New Control Panel Interface

The first thought we had when we decided that we needed to build a new Control Panel was that we needed a brand new interface. So, we created something simple and user-friendly, using mainly black and white to create the needed contrast - if a layout uses too many colors, it can be distracting.

Right-click Context Menus

Right-click Context Menus

We first figured that we should use right-click context menus when we started building the new File Manager - it seemed only natural to copy the way desktop file managers work. If you need to do something with a file, you just right-click on it and you see all the available options. You don't have to scroll to the top or to the bottom of the page just to copy or to move a file. Later, since we found this to be very useful, we added right-click context menus to almost every section of the Control Panel. You can now manage your emails, domains and databases using right-click context menus.

A Drag 'n' Drop Functionality

Speaking of the File Manager, you can now move files and folders by simply dragging and dropping them where you want to. This is also something very handy, which makes working with the File Manager a breeze.

And you can not only move files and folders dragging and dropping them, you can also upload files this way - you simply have to drag them into the File Manager window and they will start uploading into your account.

A Customizable Control Panel Index Layout

We knew that a single design decision would not appeal to everyone, so we decided that we could give the customers the option to re-arrange the index layout - should they prefer a different design. They can simply drag the available boxes to re-arrange them the way they want. The new layout will be saved for their future visits too.
